As a business consultant for online entrepreneurs, I like to look at the whole picture of your business and then identify the gaps. Actually, that’s kind of my superpower. Sometimes we’re too in the weeds of our businesses and too close to our offers to see what needs to be changed or fixed. Not only do I want your business to be as organized, simple, streamlined, and automated as possible on the back end, but I want your offers to be that way, too.
In today’s post, I’m going to share how you can “declutter” and organize your online business and offers. I organize everything the same way, whether it’s my clothes closet or my business, and today I’m going to share that approach with you.
Whether you’re new or you’ve known me for a while, you might have heard me talk about the idea of creating simpler, more sustainable businesses.
But what does that even mean and how do you do it?
What does it mean to have a simple online business?
A simpler business means having simple offers that are easy to sell over and over again, manage, and deliver on. It’s about having offers that are beneficial for you, your business, and your clients without adding all of the “fluff” just to increase the perceived value of your offers.
What does it mean to have a sustainable business?
Having a sustainable business means having one where you’re automating, delegating, organizing, or streamlining as much of your tasks and the behind the scenes of your business as possible. Why? Because you don’t want all of your business to-dos to fall on you, and if you’re not in a position to outsource you need to rely on systems and tools that can help you carry out business activities, automagically.
If life got in the way (which, hello, its does), would your business still be able to run? Are there certain tasks that would still get done without you doing them? That’s how we need to be thinking of our businesses. Now, how do we do that? Either by hiring someone to help you in you business or using a tool or system in your business.
How to create simpler offers for your online business
Okay, now let’s talk about HOW we create simpler offers. I approach simplifying, organizing, and decluttering the same way in business as I do in my home. You know how when you need to organize your clothes closet you pull everything out of it to see what you have? If you’re not doing it this way, I highly recommend! It makes it a hell of a lot easier. Is it overwhelming at first? Sure. Is it worth it? Definitely.
Then, you start to go through each item in your closet and decide if:
- You still like it
- It still fits
- It still meets your needs
- You still need it
When you’re done you put it all back in a nice and neat order. You can think of your offers the same way.
Pull apart the “features” of your offers like you would your closet and ask yourself:
- Do I still like this?
- Does it still fit the needs of my client(s)?
- Does it meet my needs (is it in alignment)?
- Do I still need this part of this offer?
Okay, so once that’s done then you need to look at the remaining pieces of those offers and ask yourself:
- What can be automated?
- Can be delegated (if you’re in a position to do so)?
- What can be streamlined a little more?
- Is there a tool I can get to do this tasks instead of doing it myself?
Make sense? Drop me a comment below and let me know if this was helpful.
Until next time,
